Responsible for supervision of subordinates carrying out daily management of various insurance accounts through patient written and verbal directions, resolving aged trial balance reports for accurate and timely filing of claims for maximum reimbursement.  Provide support to department supervisor and other accounts receivable departments, as needed.  Assure adherence to departmental policies and procedures.


Promotes quality patient/client relations by performing data entry in a timely and accurate manner.  Respects and maintains the confidentiality of information relative to the laboratory.  Adheres to all company and departmental policies and regulations.  Works with minimal direction.  Consults with supervisor or director as needed.  Operates general Accounts Receivable equipment, including, but not limited to: telephones, computer keyboards, fax machines, copiers, and printers.  Effectively communicates via written, verbal, and electronic methods.


Principal Responsibilities:


  • Distribution of daily workload to subordinates.
  • Log and report weekly/monthly statistics.
  • QC and Production.
  • Calculate and prepare statistics for quarterly bonus.
  • Calculation of biweekly employee time cards.
  • Maintain monthly ½ day Friday schedule.
  • Maintain 45 day out calendar for next step rescheduling.
  • Review refund requests.
  • Training of new employees.
  • Perform 90 day and yearly employee evaluations.
  • Educate team on procedural changes and updates.
  • Maintain department procedural manual.
  • Order and distribute team supplies.
  • Counsel employees on employee issues as needed.
  • Act as back-up for all departments job functions as needed.
  • Set example for team in all areas that relate to job functions and Clinical    Pathology Labs’ compliance policies and procedures.
  • Assume supervisory responsibilities when needed due to absence of supervisor.
  • Duties include but are not limited to the above mentioned responsibilities


Education:  High School Diploma or GED.


Experience:  Prefer at least three years experience in standard insurance or HMO plans in a multitask environment, including customer service.  Strong background in coding procedures preferred.  Lab billing and bilingual skills a plus.


Skills:  Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the company and with patients and physician office staff.  Knowledge of microcomputer technology and terminology.  Skill in use of computer systems in a networked environment is required.  Ability to type and demonstrate 10 key proficiency.  Develop effective and harmonious work habits and relationships.  Ability to read and comprehend English.  Strong interpersonal communication skills required.
