The Systems Administrator, Connectivity will be responsible for administration of the applications and systems that support connectivity and interoperability between Sonic Healthcare USA (SHUSA) Information Systems.  These systems include the SHUSA Enterprise Master Patient Index (eMPI), Clinical Data Repository, and Interface Engines. 


The Systems Administrator, Connectivity must have strong technical knowledge to manage application upgrades and Systems hardware and software requirements and ensure the systems are properly maintained and meet the performance needs of the organization.  In addition, they must develop a strong working knowledge and expertise with the specific applications.  Lastly, they will be responsible for managing the eMPI merge queue to minimize duplicate patients and maintain the integrity of the Index.


  1. eMPI Administration
  2. Manage EMPI work items
  3. Handle merge requests from business units
  1. System Administration
  2. Routine monitoring and administration of eMPI, Clinical Repository and Interface Engines
  3. Monitor overall system health
  4. Monitor data integrity from data sources
  5. Perform/coordinate application updates
  6. Work closely with SHUSA Infrastructure team to assure adequate systems resources (CPU, storage, memory, etc.)
  7. Maintain appropriate documentation.
  8. Work closely with Development Managers to assure systems are meeting business needs.
  1. General Requirements/Skills
  2. Self-directed, organized, good communication skills, ability to manage multiple implementations at any given time, good follow-up skills
  3. Knowledge of relevant HL7 transaction standards.
  4. Strong customer service ethic applied to IT Support and Implementations
  5. Participate in root cause analysis as trends in issues become identified
  6. Mature understanding of clinical application support processes and workflow
  7. Understands pertinent regulatory guidelines such as HIPAA
  8. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clinical and information technology personnel verbally and in writing
  9. Demonstrated advanced computer skills, including ability to understand network/computer/server architecture
  10. Participates in special projects as needed and performs other duties as assigned


Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field or equivalent experience
