  • Overview

    The Director of IT Business Systems will play an important role towardSonic Healthcare's overall business success in supporting the growth of the companyin the United States. The individual is responsible for the digital transformation of the business processes in sales, laboratory, informatics and office applications by interacting directly with the divisional and corporate business executives to apply and implement national standardswithin each division. Ideally, this individual is a seasoned IT leader with an exceptional functional expertise and will serve as a subject matter expert in each of the aforementioned domains. Key Characterization- Has high expposure to fundamental and innovative business processes, is passionate about automation and digitalization, is a seasoned veteran of change management and has a full understanding of the industry regulatory requirements provided by CAP. The Director of IT Business Systems is responsible for the technological direction within their are of responsibilities as well as budget, contracts and headcount. 

    Responsibilities

    • Lead the IT Business Systems stategic and operational planning by the evaluation, deployment, and successful implementation of standardized systems across the organization. 
    • Manage all aspects of application integration/configuration including functional and technical specifications , design, development and support for applicationsthat are used by the business and operations areas. 
    • Oversee one or more programsto ensure that the quality and success of assigned projects are consistent, scalable, repeatable and within budget.
    • Ensure any risks associated with projects in his/her portfolio are managed appropriately.
    • Responsible for the strategic direction of the programs; ensuring the strategy is adequate, successful, followed and continuously improved. 
    • On target delivery of business systemsto divisional units and successful handoff to Support. 
    • Adopt and support customer (divisional) satisfaction measurements to achieve quality service delivery consitently across all IT business functions and report back to each functions Director. 
    • Plan, assign and direct projects
    • Direct and approve the departmental practices within the organization to maintain quality.
    • Ensure departmental policies and procedures are written and revised as needed and/or required
    • Ensure compliance with corporate ethics and compliance programs
    • Identify trends and take corrective action with appropriate documentation when indicated
    • Coordinate and assist with a continuing education program for the department
    • Negotiate, develop and monitor vendor contracts to ensure exceptional value/service
    • Actively participate in various committees and task forces as a representative for the department
    • Attend Department Director, Management meetings regularly as well as individual meetings with the CIO
    • Act as department's liason between other departments
    • Evaluate document and report informationfor future departmental and organizational planning
    • Anticipate professional and technical changes and recommend ne services and programs
    • Act as a consultant to other departments and clients to ensure compliance with any specific regulatory and/or accreditation requirements
    • Collaborate, develop and participate in marketing of program/departments, including educational program development, external advertising and working in alliance with partnerships, local and regional programs.
    • Participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of goals for the organization and areas of responsibility 
    • Hiring/contracting the right technical personnel, ensuring organization structure yields a high-performing team
    • Travel as necessary to support divisional adoptionof national standards and build key relationships

    Qualifications

    Experience:

     

    Minimum of 15 years IT managerial experience required in designing, implementing and supporting enterprise systems with knowledge of software development principles. Experience in laboratory digitalization and architecting large enterprise applications. Strong project management delivering complex enterprise solutions. Proven abilities to generate system standards and drive change throughout the business organization. Experience managing diverse workforce over multiple IT locations preferred.

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including writing, presenting, listening and facilitating to all levels
    • Excellent understanding of business processes and transactions in a laboratory environment
    • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to achieve project goals and deadlines
    • Strong management background and understanding of P&Ls, KPIs and change management
    • Ability to balance high quality standards with schedule pressures and demanding environment
    • Ability to use metrics and data to drive business decision-making
    • Expertise in cloud based systems automation, configuration and intergration
    • Ability to travel 50% of the time
