  • Overview

    The Exchange Engineer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and optimization of the Microsoft Exchange Environment. Exchange Engineer will also provide a strong technical, analytical and communications skills for the management and administration of hosted Exchange environments. Responsibilities include day-to-day system administration including the monitoring of systems, security, performance, and backup/restore and configuration changes. This position troubleshoots incidents, determines root causes, and finds/implements solutions for email related problems.

     

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions:

    • Designs, configures and maintains Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 in an enterprise environment.
    • Administers Microsoft Exchange 2010 in a high-availability environment that is spanning multiple geographically dispersed datacenters.
    • Demonstrated experience migrating from Exchange 2003/2007 to Exchange 2010.
    • Understands troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques.
    • Performs backup/ restore using Commvault.
    • Monitors Exchange Server Services Availability.
    • Serves as the lead technical resource on complex systems projects.

    End-User Support:

    • Performs user mailbox creation/ deletion/ modification.
    • Monitors and resolves mail flow inbound and outbound issues.
    • Expertise in Outlook Client 2010/2013 troubleshooting. 

    Training & Education:

    • Create documents and cross train colleagues in support areas.
    • Maintains professional/technical knowledge by reading professional publications and attending continuing education seminars and classes.
    • Knowledge of trends in technology relating to Microsoft Exchange.

    Special Projects:

    Participate in process improvement projects.

     

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • Bachelor (4-year) degree with a technical major such as engineering or computer science, or demonstrated work experience.
    • Exchange PowerShell scripting knowledge.
    • Four plus years’ experience as a Microsoft Exchange Administrator.
    • Must be able to balance high quality standards with schedule pressures and demanding environment.
    • Must be a resourceful self-starter, flexible, pro-active, solution-oriented and customer-oriented.

     

    Preferred:

    • Expertise in Exchange 2003/2007/2010 Exchange servers.

     

     

    License Certification:

    • Certifications (MCSE on Microsoft Exchange)

    - Strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory 2008 and 2012.
    - Solid understanding of DAGs.
    - Knowledge of SMTP mail routing.
