  • Overview

    The ideal candidate is a seasoned, self-motivated, talented individual with a history of instrument interfacing within the Healthcare industry, or within one of the proprietary software applications offered by Sonic Healthcare USA:



    • Apollo laboratory Information System (Preferred)

    • Misys Laboratory Information Systems


     


    The candidate must have a functional understanding of Laboratory operations, Laboratory Information Systems, Instrument Interfacing, network connectivity and excellent communication skills.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions:


                    This candidate should be able to perform the following job functions with limited support or supervision.



    • Work closely with businesses to extract database information from legacy systems to be incorporated in the new information system database.

    • Work with 3rd party vendors and internal development staff on development and implementation of instrument interfaces.

    • Training of the local lab staff, auditing, and assistance with testing.

    • Provide consulting services to end users for best operating procedures/workflows.

    • Working closely with IT Champion at the business on the definition and testing of Electronic interfaces.

    • Audit and documentation of existing hardware devices and IP addresses to be used with instrument interfaces.

    • Assisting laboratories with the connection, setup and testing of instrument devices.

    • Assist Business IT Champion in the installation and roll out of required hardware.

    • Work with the division to make sure that Graphical User Interface functionality is fully understood and functioning appropriately.

    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Required:



    • Education/Certification: 5-10 years of development within the Healthcare Industry, Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

    • Working knowledge of Apollo Instrument interface configurations

    • Working knowledge of Laboratory workflow

    • Working knowledge of instrument development lifecycle

    • Working knowledge instrument connectivity

    • Ability to organize and prioritize work

    • Strong communication skills, both oral and written

    • Ability to analyze and/or write design specifications and requirements
